The Sake Anatomy › Brewery Directory
Every Sake Brewery in JapanA bare-facts directory of name, location and representative brand for every licensed sake brewery in Japan — all 47 prefectures.
The Sake Brand Index profiles 148 breweries in depth — story, food pairings, bottle-by-bottle tasting notes. This directory is broader but shallower: every licensed kura we can find, with just the facts — name, location, representative brand. Rows shaded amber already have a full profile (and sometimes a deeper story) in the Brand Index; follow the links to read more. It is being built region by region and currently covers Hokkaido, the six Tohoku prefectures, the Hokuriku and Koshinetsu regions, and the seven Kanto prefectures (Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo and Kanagawa), and the four Tokai prefectures (Gifu, Shizuoka, Aichi and Mie), and the Kinki region (Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara and Wakayama), and the Chugoku, Shikoku and Kyushu regions plus Okinawa (Tottori, Shimane, Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, Tokushima, Kagawa, Ehime, Kochi, Fukuoka, Saga, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, Kagoshima and Okinawa) — completing coverage of all 47 prefectures.
